Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the iID.lt website and tools (the “Service”), including URL shortening, QR and barcode generation, and related utilities. By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
iID.lt provides technical tools that help you shorten URLs, build tracking parameters, generate QR codes and barcodes, create contact or payment payloads, and use related utilities. The Service is intended for lawful, legitimate communication. We do not own, control, edit, or host the destination websites or content behind shortened links or encoded payloads, except for technical storage needed to operate redirects and your account features.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
3. Accounts
Some features require an account. You must provide accurate information, keep your login credentials confidential, and promptly notify us of unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms, appear compromised, or create security or abuse risk.
4. User responsibility
You are solely responsible for every link, QR code, barcode, file, text, or other output you create, share, print, or distribute with the Service — including destination URLs, encoded data, legality, and any consequences of sharing them. You must have all rights needed to use and distribute that content and must ensure it complies with applicable law. Creating a short link or code does not make iID.lt a publisher, host, or guarantor of the destination content.
5. Acceptable use and prohibited content
You must not use the Service for spam; phishing; malware, viruses, or ransomware; fraud or social engineering; identity theft; illegal trade; child sexual exploitation or child sexual abuse material; non-consensual intimate imagery; terrorism or violent extremism; hate speech that unlawfully incites violence or discrimination; or any other unlawful activity. You must not circumvent security, quotas, or rate limits; probe or attack the Service; scrape in a way that impairs availability; mass-create links or codes for abuse; or misrepresent affiliation with iID.lt. Adult sexual content used to deceive, distribute malware, or otherwise abuse the Service is also prohibited.
6. Our rights to moderate and protect the Service
We may review, refuse, delete, disable, block, throttle, or otherwise restrict any shortened link, generated code, account, IP address, or other access at any time, with or without prior notice, if we reasonably believe there is a violation of these Terms, applicable law, abuse, security risk, or harm to third parties. We may apply quotas, filters, captchas, and other protective measures. Enforcement decisions do not create a duty to monitor all user content.
7. Intellectual property
The Service’s branding, design, software, and documentation are owned by iID.lt or its licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the Service as offered. You retain rights in content you submit, but grant us a licence to host, process, transmit, and display it as needed to operate the Service (for example, storing a destination URL to perform a redirect).
8. Availability and changes
We aim for reliable availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features, quotas, and free tiers may change. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service. Where practical, we will publish material changes on the site.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of previews or counters, or uninterrupted availability. Tools that simulate search or social previews are approximations only and do not guarantee how Google, social networks, or other third parties will display your content.
10. Limitation of liability
iID.lt acts as a technical service provider and is not liable for third-party websites, destination content, user-generated links or codes, or damages arising from your use of shortened links or generated outputs — including lost data, profits, business, or reputation — except where liability cannot be excluded under mandatory law. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (or EUR 0 if you used only free features).
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless iID.lt and its operators from claims, losses, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your content, links, codes, or misuse of the Service, or from your breach of these Terms or applicable law, except to the extent caused by our wilful misconduct.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would require another law. Courts of Lithuania have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence provide otherwise. EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s ODR platform where applicable.
13. Contact and updates
Questions about these Terms: info@iid.lt. We may update these Terms; the current version is published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where mandatory law requires a different process.
